After 16 years we are coming to the end of an era as Carp Ridge Natural Health Clinic closes its doors August 30, 2014 with the exceptions of the IV Therapy Suite and the practice of Leesa Kirchner, ND, FABNO, who will remain at Carp Ridge until October 31, 2014.. Katherine will be taking some much deserved time off to rest, write, and focus on her family. The plan is to rent the clinic building as a residential home, and keep the tents, cabins and yurts available for practitioners to have some healing spaces. Sara will be moving the Ridgewoods School back into the Learning Centre building, but it will also remain an option for rentals on evenings and weekends.

If you are interested in renting a cabin, yurt, tent, home or Learning Centre building please contact Lori at 839-1198 x305 or lori [at] ecowellness.com

We welcome you to join us for fun, food and information at our final Annual Open House, Saturday June 21 from 11am to 1pm. There will be activities for the kids and nutritious snacks.

Carp Ridge is pleased to welcome Denise Fuller to our team. Her bio is below.

Denise Fuller, NDIt was during a co-op job for my undergraduate degree in microbiology that I was first introduced to the concept of working with a living system to promote health instead of suppressing symptoms. While this work was within the field of forestry, it helped shape how I looked at my own and my family’s health.

I was drawn to the study of Naturopathic Medicine and began attending the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto. During my time at CCNM, my interest in working with women, infants and children began to flourish. My peers and supervisors recognized my work in this field, and I became the recipient of the Women’s Health Award for my graduating class of 1999.

Upon graduation, I worked in two multi-disciplinary clinics in the Toronto area. I continued to work with women and children, developing a specialized interest in fertility concerns, pregnancy, labour & delivery and the postpartum period. I also began to attend births as a doula and Naturopathic Doctor.

Working with women during their births inspired me to become a midwife. I felt this was a wonderful complement to my practice as a Naturopathic Doctor and I became one of only a handful of naturopathically trained midwives in Canada. I practiced exclusively as a midwife for seven years before I made the decision to return to practicing as a naturopath full time. I am excited to bring all I learned as a midwife back to my naturopathic practice.

I strongly believe that the beauty of Naturopathic Medicine is in its ability to impact a person’s health and wellbeing by looking at them as a unique individual. Healing the whole person with treatments that work synergistically with the body becomes the primary focus of any treatment plan. I work to find the best combination of treatments for each person – this may include nutrition, acupuncture, homeopathy or botanical medicine. I have also done specialized training in craniosacral therapy and found it is a wonderful technique that complements traditional naturopathic modalities.

When not practicing, I am blessed to spend my time with my family including my daughter Kai who was born in 2012. I also enjoy running and have completed many half and full marathons. I look forward to working with you through your health care journey.
