She has treated clients with conditions ranging from chronic headaches, stress and TMJ disorders, to scoliosis, post surgical scars/burn victims, sports, and fibromyalgia. She also has experience in areas such as trigger point therapy, myo-fascial release, joint mobilization, PNF stretching, and deep tissue massage (Swedish massage).
Deanna is passionate in the belief that wellness starts from within and focuses on treating the body as a whole. She feels the body, mind and spirit are connected and as a massage therapist, her goal is to help people become more aware of their bodies, educate them on how they can heal while offering individual care, encouragement and support.
Deanna’s previous career in social work and mental health has given her the knowledge and skillset to not only treat the client’s physiological concerns but to also focus on a person’s mental health and psychological wellbeing. Deanna knows now from experience that mental health can be just as important in a person’s healing process as any physical therapy.
Deanna enjoys living a holistic lifestyle. She has studied yoga in Thailand and is a certified yoga teacher. She is also studying to be a Registered Holistic Nutritionist through The Canadian School of Natural Nutrition. In her spare time, she enjoys camping, hiking, mountain biking, gardening, travelling, yoga/meditation, and the company of her friends, family and dogs.
