We’re extremely pleased to announce our partnership with Canada World Youth this fall.
From October to December, Kagiso from Ottawa and Zippy from Kenya will be volunteering in our Forest Preschool & Homeschoolers Wilderness Program on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Canada World Youth (CWY) is a world leader in the development of international educational programs for youth aged 15 to 25. The organization works with countries in Africa, Latin America, Asia, the Caribbean, and Eastern Europe.
Since 1971, the CWY program has made it possible for more than 33,000 young people from 67 countries to have safe and meaningful international experiences, learn about other cultures, build their skills in volunteer placements, and contribute to the well-being of their own communities.
Below are two short bios which Zippy & Kagiso have written:
Zippy tells us:
‘I am Zippy from Kimende, Kenya. I’m 23 years old and ready to work at Carp Ridge. I love kids and have been working with kids at home in my church. I also love singing and dancing. I was happy to be given this chance to work here and use my abilities and skills to gain more experiences.’
Kagiso tells us:
‘I’m the youngest participant in CWY. I was born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario. My favorite things are sports and music and I am very willing to be outside. I have been to many different countries and have seen new things. I was also a past Katimavik participant.’
